On November 2, 2017, the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) published a recall of about 37.8 million Kidde fire extinguishers with plastic handles and push buttons in the United States, and approximately 3 million more in Canada.

The fire extinguishers can become clogged or require excessive force to discharge and can fail to activate during a fire emergency. In addition, the nozzle can detach with enough force to pose an impact hazard.

You may have one or more of the affected units in your business and your customers may have them in their RV and/or Boat or Home.  If you or your guests have any of these extinguishers, you should immediately contact Kidde to request a free replacement fire extinguisher and for instructions on returning the recalled unit. The recalled unit may not work properly in a fire emergency.

Contact Kidde toll-free at (855) 271-0773 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET Saturday and Sunday, or visit www.kidde.com and click on “Product Safety Recall” for more information.

Please help spread the word on this.   Have a safe and Happy Holiday Season!!!
